Mikel Arteta has three possible midfield options besides signing Thomas Partey ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal is keen on concluding a move for Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid this summer. Besides making a move for Partey Arsenal is also looking to revamp the midfield having three transfer options in mind.
Mikel Arteta is looking to raid his native place Spain in order to bolster his Midfield options other than Partey’s addition. Arteta believes that there is so much work to do in the midfield region and that can be done with the right players in hand. Arsenal’s latest addition to the squad involves a contract extension of four players. Long term deal for Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares. One year contract extension for David Luiz and loan extension of Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.
However, Arteta still has a waning midfield. While Dani Ceballos will return to Real Madrid once the loan stint gets over. Lucas Torreira might make an exit this summer. Furthermore, Matteo Guendouzi is not at his best since the resumption of football. Joe Willock is also not impressing at the club. This leaves Arteta with only one reliable option in hand Granit Xhaka.
In the case of Mesut Ozil, he only struggled with injuries and unimpressive performance in recent years. According to Football Ghana, Arsenal is willing to trigger Thomas Partey’s £45m release clause.
The Gunners have occupied the ninth position in the Premier League table. They stand 11 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and failed to nab any place in the top four. The last year winner Chelsea occupied the final Champions League spot.
With harboring doubts on securing a place in next year Champions League and Europa League qualification is also not very much in favor. Gunners are more focused on recruitment and on the upcoming transfer window.
Arsenal tracking three more La Liga prospects other than Partey
Spanish publication La Razon suggests that there are few names that could be heading towards Emirates Stadium. Further adding to it they claim that Arsenal is keeping eye on three more Spanish players in addition to Thomas Partey.
Levante midfielder Enis Bardhi is one of the names. The North Macedonia international has a record of scoring 16 goals and provided 10 assists in 96 appearances for the La Liga outfit. The player is available in £18million but Arsenal has to compete with Fiorentina and an unnamed Spanish club.
Another name on Arsenal’s radar is of Marc Roca. Arsenal could prise him for £36.4m or below should Espanyol’s probable relegation gets confirmed. Lastly, Valencia’s Carlos Soler is also on Arsenal’s transfer list. The 23-year-old is also linked with Premier League champions Liverpool in recent months. But no further actions are taken by the Reds.
