Crystal Palace wide forward Wilfried Zaha is not a target anymore for the FA Cup winners Arsenal.
Wilfried Zaha has been a key target for the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who seems a big admirer of the forward. Previous manager Unai Emery also had an interest in the 27-year-old player.
Now Crystal Palace manager has stated his thoughts on the lack of offers for their key man in this transfer window. He is surprised that there are no big offers from any English or European clubs for the Ivory International player.
According to the former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, Tottenham Hotspur is the perfect destination for Zaha. New Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is also looking to sign Wilfried Zaha in this transfer window. But no official bid has been made for the player yet form either club.
Other big European clubs PSG, Monaco, and Borussia Dortmund also showing interest in Zaha.
Roy Hodgson is surprised with the lack of offers for Wilfried Zaha
Crystal manager has expressed his thoughts on the Zaha saga with an interview with Evening Standard. He admitted his frustration on Zaha saga, the player wants a move to play in the Champions League and they are ready to let him go. Suitable offer will be accepted by the management but the lack of offers is surprising for the former England manager.
“It is a little bit frustrating. It would be nice to have Wilf with us without this cloud that hangs over him – is he really going to stay with us or are we going to have to wave goodbye to him?“
“I am surprised that we do not get more people knocking on our door who are willing to pay a sensible price for him because I think he is such a good player.” – Roy Hodgson on Zaha
Last summer Arsenal had bid rejected for the Zaha, Crystal Palace valued him £80m then. But now according to reports they are willing to listen offers around £50m for the Ivory International winger.
Arsenal not looking to sign wide forward anymore:
After failing to get Zaha last season, Arsenal signed Nicolas Pepe for a club-record fee of £84m from LOSC Lille. Willian has also arrived from Chelsea on a free transfer in this transfer window.
The emergence of youngster Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson at Emirates stadium has also made Gunners strong in forwarding wide positions.
Now it seems that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is happy with the options at his hands. He has shifted his attention to his midfield options, new midfield signing is a key priority for him.
Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Houssem Aouar is a reportedly key target for the Arsenal in this transfer window. Thomas Partey and Boubakary Soumare are other potential targets for the Mikel Arteta in midfield.
