Arsenal will not announce their next signing for at least a month despite a deal being agreed with the player and the club
The Gunners fans will have to wait another month before they can boast about their second signing of the summer. After confirming the arrival of Stephan Lichsteiner, Unai Emery is on the lookout for reinforcements in the central defensive role. Sokratis Papastathopoulos is the man mooted to complete a £16 million move to the Emirates before the World Cup begins.
Several reports have been claiming that a deal has been agreed by all the parties involved. However, the player is yet to be officially announced by Arsenal.
The Telegraph is reporting that the move will not be announced for at least a month more. The report states that the details of a transfer worth £16 million have been agreed between both the clubs. While the Gunners have also struck up an agreement with the player who will sign a three-year deal.

The 29-year-old will be the third player after Pierre Emerick-Aubameyand and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to have played under Arsenal’s new Head of Recruitment, Sven Mislintat.
The report, however, stopped short of stating the reasons as to why the announcement is being stalled. Presumably, the Gunners will want to unveil one or two more signings alongside the former AC Milan and Werder Bremen defender.
The leading candidate for that role is Paris Saint-Germain’s Yacine Adli. The 17-year-old is being monitored by the club’s scouting department and the club is hoping to seal a deal for the player in the near future.
Sokratis’s addition to the Gunners back line will come as a much-needed boost for Unai Emery. Arsenal are currently shorn of senior options in central defence owing to Laurent Koscienly’s long-term injury. As far as the delay in the announcement is concerned, fans will be hoping that it’s just that and the move has not hit any major roadblock.
