Real Madrid may be forced to sell some of their players in the January transfer window to balance the books.

North London side Arsenal can sign Real Madrid players in the January transfer window and strengthen their squad by taking advantage of Los Blancos’ current situation, wherein they need €200m (£168.4m) to balance the books and comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

If Real Madrid decides to offload some of their players next month, Arsenal can pounce on the opportunity to sign players who could very well strengthen their squad.

Marcelo playing for the match in la-Liga

Arsenal could sign Marcelo who will, if he joins, surely strengthen the North Londoners’ defensive department [Via Football.London] . The Brazilian, who is a left-back, is widely regarded as one of the best in that position and Arsenal would benefit from his quality and experience.

Marcelo was linked with an exit from Santiago Bernabeu to join former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus but the move did not take place in the previous transfer window.

Zinedine Zidane has been using both Marcelo and the young Ferland Mendy on a rotational basis at the left-back. With Arsenal light on options at the left-back, they could offer him more playing minutes. If he joins Arsenal, he would be a reliable option at that position and could bombard down the flanks, helping Arsenal attack.

Isco playing for Madrid

Another player whom Arsenal could target is Spanish International Isco. He is undoubtedly a quality player but has found it difficult to earn playing minutes so far this season. The Spanish midfielder has also been linked with a move to many of Europe’s top clubs, which includes the likes of defending English Premier League champions Manchester City and Italian behemoths Juventus.

Author’s Take

Both Marcelo and Isco are quality players and those who are capable of improving Arsenal. Gunners can take advantage of Real Madrid’s situation to entice these players to North London.

However, it will not be easy to sign these in the January transfer window even if Real Madrid are ready to offload them. If they are for sale, many clubs will attract these players, given their quality and experience.
