Former Red Devil Lee Sharpe has slammed Jose Mourinho for not giving enough confidence to young stars at the club and stalling their growth.
It’s no surprise that Jose Mourinho has given the cold shoulder to many players that have immense talent. The ‘Special One’ has made it a habit of dropping star players in his managerial career when things seem to be going fine and has once again done it with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at Manchester United.
Anthony Martial has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford because of being snubbed by the Portuguese boss on many occasions despite performing well whenever called upon and that’s the reason why he was not included in France’s national team.
Rashford too has found it hard to make regular Premier League starts despite being a bit-part player for United this season but his talent has been praised by many pundits and fans across Manchester. And ex-Manchester United midfielder Lee Sharpe has slated Mourinho for treating the Englishman harshly.
"It doesn't seem like Mourinho is building a team around him"

Sharpe Believes That Rashford Should Play More Often-
In a recent talk with PA Sport, Sharpe backed the 20-year-old winger and advised Mourinho to give him a run of games. The 47-year-old also explained that the talented attacker should be given more opportunities to play.
“It doesn’t seem like Jose Mourinho is building a team around him and he’s never been one for putting young ones in. Having been a similar age in a similar sort of position to Marcus, I know how it feels and even though you get the odd week where you get tired you need to get that rhythm and to feel the manager is backing you. Sanchez coming in and taking a place hasn’t helped him. To be in and out just isn’t great and it’s also a little tough for him being in a team who isn’t playing fluently, moving the ball around and dominating.”
There is no denying that Rashford is one of the most promising young players in England but he needs to be given more confidence to play. Being not included regularly affects a young player and dents their beliefs. Mourinho needs to get the best out of Rashford in the next few seasons because he will be crucial for United’s growth.
