AJ Tye has raised eyebrows of the cricketing world with his innovative shot selection and we cannot stop looking at it over and again in awe.
BBL 2020-21 is progressing in full swing and the players of all the participating teams are making news every now and then with their spectacular on-field performances. This sporting event will see the battle amongst 08 teams: Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder.
Each of the teams will lock horns against each other twice in the league matches before proceeding to the playoffs. Perth Scorchers have the most number of BBL titles (3) to their credit followed by the defending champions, Sydney Sixers (2).
The 41st Match at Canberra saw the battle of the 02 powerhouses mentioned above and several moments during the match were striking enough to create headlines. Perth Scorchers won the toss and the skipper elected to bat first.
The openers Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone gave a fiery start to the team, amassing a total of 76 runs in just 07 overs for the first wicket partnership. Daniel Christian provided the much-needed breakthrough for Sydney Sixers, dismissing Roy in a terrific delivery.
The wickets started tumbling slowly after that which in a way brought down the run rate but Livingstone continued his blasts all over the ground to make up for damage control. With 76/0 in 07 overs at one stage, Sydney sixers were reduced to 144/6 at the end of 18 overs.
Daniel Christian was given the charge to deliver the 19th over wherein he dismissed Hardie to increase the woes for Sydney sixers even more. This brought the Australian medium pacer, Andrew Tye to the crease. His partner, Richardson took a single of Daniel’s last delivery to retain strike in the final over.
The final over of the innings was bowled by Jake Ball who in his third delivery brought out the best of all shots from AJ Tye. Tye moved across the stumps to scoop the ball towards the leg side, but Jake directed the ball fuller outside off. Tye brought out the most shot in response, reverse shoveling the ball over short third man for a couple.
The spectators in the ground were taken by surprise with this serious innovation from Tye and the commentators also could not stop expressing marvel to the same. Some of the fans also correlated this shot to the king of such shots, AB Devilliers by posting comments on this video posted on Instagram as well.

Tye hit a massive six in the very next delivery which helped Perth Scorchers post a total of 163/7 on board. Sydney skipper seemed very impressed with the performance of the bowlers as they restricted the team, who at one stage seemed to touch the 200 marks as well.
Sydney sixers in response to the target of 164 made a promising start with the help of opener Josh Philippe. Although Justin could not impress much and be sent off quite early, Josh and Vince blasted individual half-centuries to take the team over the winning line with 01 over to spare.
The bowlers of Perth Scorchers were rendered ineffective by the brilliant display of batting by Philippe except for Behrendorff who was the most economical of all. Andrew Tye however could not make his mark with the ball as he gave away 41 runs in just 03 overs without any wicket, being the most expensive of bowlers.
Sydney Sixers won the match by 07 wickets with ease and Philippe has rightfully adjudged the man of the match. Sydney with this win consolidate the top position in the points table while Perth Scorchers are currently third in the table after the match.
