Andres Iniesta to make a decision about his next club very soon

Andres Iniesta made 43 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona this season

FC Barcelona midfield maestro and the club legend Andres Iniesta confirmed that he has already made up his mind to move away from the Camp Nou.

Andres Iniesta, the Blaugrana Captain, currently aged 34 will leave the Camp Nou after 16 long and memorable seasons at the club. The FC Barcelona Captain had plans to sign for a club in China but the team later announced that they had problems and difficulties in reaching an agreement.

This decision ended the possibility of Iniesta’s departure to China. Currently, there is a chance that the Barcelona captain might sign for a club in Japan and Australia at the end of the current season. Andres Iniesta on Monday told, “more advanced than another”, China back in the mix and Australia seemingly no longer a possibility.

“I must make a decision that is one of the most important that I will have taken,” he told Onda Cero. “There are two scenarios – China and Japan – each with its own things. We have to put everything in the balance and decide what is best. Next week I hope to give an answer and focus on the World Cup.”

Iniesta played a major role in Barcelona winning the domestic double-the Copa Del Rey and the La Liga, having made 43 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona this season. The club hoped to give their legend Andres Iniesta a major farewell by becoming the first ever La Liga invincibles, but that suffered a major setback after their first loss of the season against Levante on Sunday.

Author’s take:

The departure of the current captain will be a major important and emotional loss to the Barcelona side. Iniesta has been an integral part of the dominant Barcelona era. He along with Xavi and Messi had formed a trio which struck fear into the heart of the opposition.

His passing, vision, dribbling and his mental connection with the Argentine will be hugely missed. Most Importantly the presence of the Blaugrana captain at the Camp Nou will be missed. A void-which no one can ever fill!
