The ongoing County Championship 2021 certainly had its moments so far. The Group 3 match between Lancashire and Glamorgan is taking place at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.
Glamorgan won the toss and opted to open the face of the blade against Lancashire. The opening pair Joe Cooke and David Lloyd got off to a decent start.
However, their opening partnership didn’t last long after Saqib Mahmood dismissed Joe Cooke. However, David Lloyd carried about his business alongside Marnus Labuschagne.
Australian Test specialist didn’t contribute much in the 47-run partnership. The right-handed batsman managed to score just 12 runs while Lloyd dictated the tempo most of the time.
Meanwhile, England’s legendary fast bowler James Anderson appeared in his 22nd season for Lancashire in County Championship on Thursday. It is good to see England’s engine running even at the age of 38.
The right-arm fast bowler made it literally tough for Glamorgan batsmen as he bowled over 8 maiden overs so far. Moreover, he took 2 wickets to his name in the ongoing match.
James Anderson gets rid of Marnus Labuschagne
There were countless occasions where James Anderson bowled sensational spells to get rid of world-class batsmen. During the game against Glamorgan, Anderson dismissed the likes of No.3 Test batsman Marnus Labuschagne (12) and Billy Root (11).
Anderson dismissed Labuschagne with an absolute gem of a delivery in the 25th over. After that Billy Root was dismissed leg before wicket off Anderson’s bowling in the 42nd over. At the time of writing this article, Glamorgan scored 135/4 in 46 overs.
