Albie Morkel remembers an incident when he was put in Jail

Albie Morkel is known for his allround performances in the T20 leagues all around the World. He has scored 4058 runs in 307 T20 Matches and also picked up 245 wickets. He never achieved the same success internationally for his country South Africa as he only played a few matches for his country.

Morkel narrated a terrible incident  when he was put behind bars after being alleged for smuggling weapons in Mozambique. Morkel in a local show named The Dan Nicholl Show on SuperSport in this week told about this incident when he had to spend 2 days in Jail in a local prision in Tete.

He was found guilty of possessing leftover ammunition from a tiger fishing exhibition. “They pulled AK-47s on us and it turned into a very ugly story. Thrown in the back of a car, the next time I got out and the gates opened to Tete provincial prison. I have never been to jail in South Africa or even close to it but I don’t think what happens in there… humans shouldn’t be treated like that,” Morkel mentioned.

Morkel has played in only one Test, 58 ODIs and 50 T20Is. He was also part of the star Studded CSK Team in IPL .
