Adam Lallana reacts to £50m star potentially joining Liverpool

Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has reacted to the Reds‘ upcoming £50million signing. The club is all to invest in young talent considering the future in mind. Manager Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster his squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Reds need reinforcements in their defensive setup after back-to-back blows with injury to key players. However, Klopp has managed well to rotate his squad by using his reserve players. The club did sign players in the January window to help Klopp for the rest of the season.

The management went on to sign Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak in the January transfer window to provide stability to their defense. The absence of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez has been a problem for the Liverpool defense at the moment.

However, the reserve players are stepping up for the side and performing to their standards. Fabinho has also moved back to play centre-back role with key players out with injury. While Jordan Henderson also joined back with the Brazilian defensive all-rounder at the back.

Ozan Kabak is currently on a six-month loan at Liverpool from the German side Schalke. The defender might make a permanent switch from Schalke in the upcoming summer transfer window. The reports also suggest that the player could be signed for a much lesser price than agreed earlier.

However, Klopp will be hoping to sell the deadwood at the club in order to raise funds for new signings. Wijnaldum could also possibly leave Liverpool this summer, whose contract runs out by end of the season. Barcelona are keen to sign the Dutch midfielder, who also scored yesterday on his national duty.

Liverpool’s defensive woes

Liverpool had a good start to their league campaign with some solid wins as defensive champions. However, it started fading away with some major injury blows as the season progressed. The Merseyside derby saw Van Dijk get into a harsh tackle with Toffees shot-stopper.

Following Dutchman’s injury, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip also fell prey for the injury, which has made things worse for Klopp this season. The side is currently at the seventh position in the Premier League at the moment.

The Reds have a number of big games coming their way next week. Klopp’s side will have to face Arsenal and Real Madrid in a fight for the Champions League trophy. While both these sides have already met in the 2018 Champions League finals game in recent times.

Lallana’s thoughts on White’s move to Liverpool

Adam Lallana is currently plying his trade for Brighton and Hove Albion, after making a switch from Liverpool. The midfielder spoke about Ben White’s potential move to Anfield to TalkSport. He said,”He has had an absolutely fantastic season. He’s very, very versatile. He can play anywhere across the back and that’s in a back five.”

“He has played central midfield this season and has consistently been playing at a high level, so, of course, he’s going to attract interest. But he’s a very level-headed lad and you can see that he’s a very good player, week in and week out in what is his first season in the Premier League.”

Liverpool have been showing interest in signing the versatile defender. Ben White had a great season with Leeds in the Championship and performing well with the Seagulls currently. Liverpool were closing in on the defender in the January transfer window. The Reds might also make a switch for RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate in the summer.
